"Seokchan is a Postdoctoral Fellow who joined the Schotsaert Lab in January 2023. His research focus is studying how the host-immune system responds to infections caused by viruses such as SARS-CoV-2 and influenza. He also works on validating and optimizing new and existing adjuvants, antivirals, and vaccines in preclinical animal models.
Seokchan obtained his degree in Veterinary Medicine from Jeonbuk National University in Republic of Korea in 2016. He continued his education at the same institution and earned his M.S. in Veterinary Pathology in 2019, with a thesis on highly pathogenic avian influenza. In 2022, Seokchan received his Ph.D. in Veterinary pathology at Jeonbuk National University, where his research focused on Severe Fever with Thrombocytopenia Syndrome Virus (Phenuiviridae, Bunyavirales)."
